Certified in the STOTT PILATES® method of training.  Andrea has over 10 years within the mindful movement industry.  Founder, of a second studio in Toronto.  Located in an open, modern and bright studio space with a lot of natural sunlight.  Offering intimate reformer classes up to three clients at a time, personalized group Pilates mat and yoga classes.  In addition to private Pilates and yoga sessions.

Origin of Pilates

Joseph Hubertus Pilates (December 9, 1883 – October 9, 1967) was a German physical trainer notable for having invented and promoted the Pilates method of physical fitness.

Pilates came to believe that the “modern” life-style, bad posture, and inefficient breathing lay at the roots of poor health.  He ultimately devised a series of exercises and training techniques, and engineered all the equipment, specifications, and tuning required to teach his methods properly.

Benefits of Pilates

Pilates can really make a difference in your health without taking a toll on your body.  More conventional or traditional workouts are weight bearing and tend to build short, bulky muscles – the type most prone to injury.  Pilates elongates and strengthens, improving muscle elasticity and joint mobility.  A body with balanced strength and flexibility is less likely to be injured.

Classes

The health benefits include improved balance of controlled flexibility and stability of your muscles.  Elongate and increase muscle strength.  Sculpt and tone your body.  Beginning with the core of your abdomen.  Balance muscular strength equally on both sides of your body and enhance muscular control and stability of your back and limbs.

In addition to realigning your body through mindful movement exercises resulting in improved posture, decreasing and ultimately eliminating lower back, joints and neck pain.  All of our classes are thoroughly guided with experienced instructors directed with specific instructions tailored to each individual in the class.

Our instructors customize the workouts ensuring proper form throughout each session.  If you are a beginner to Pilates or yoga, you will receive the personal attention and guidance with our easy to follow instructions and tactile queueing for you to feel the difference.  If you have been practicing Pilates and or yoga for years you will still experience a challenging workout through the personal attention of our instructors.

Our instructors have our clients best interest first.  The key component in building trust in a relationship.  Whatever your body needs, your goals will be reached and obtained through our full body focussed classes.
